On July 4, 2026, Mr. Decho Suwanmusik, Director of the Mechanical Engineering Division, along with staff members, represented the Office of Water Resources Region 10 in a ceremony to offer blessings and best wishes on the occasion of the birthday of Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Walailak, at the multipurpose area of the Chulabhorn Development Project 8, Lamphun Subdistrict, Ban Na San District, Surat Thani Province. Mr. Chumpot Wannachatsiri, Governor of Surat Thani Province, presided over the ceremony to offer blessings and best wishes, expressing loyalty, gratitude, and honoring Her Royal Highness. Representatives from various agencies including the judiciary, military, police, heads of government departments, public and private sector organizations, independent organizations, community groups, and the general public participated in the event.
The devastating floods in southern Thailand in November 1988 caused immense loss of life and property, particularly in Ban Na San district. The environment was severely damaged due to soil erosion on mountaintops and hillsides; floodwaters carried trees, rocks, sand, and other materials, impacting homes and destroying farmlands. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Walailak initiated the Chulabhorn Development Project 8 to restore the environment and improve the lives of the flood victims, as well as conserve existing natural resources for future generations.
