Background

Regional Water Resources Office 10 Established on March 2, 2004.

According to the order of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment No. 78/2547, dated March 2, 2004.

The Strategic Plan for the Development of the Thai Civil Service System (2003-2007) mandated a review of organizational structures to improve their suitability, adapt to changing environments, and enhance flexibility and agility. Section 33 of the Royal Decree on Principles and Methods of Good Governance, B.E. 2546 (2003), stipulates that government agencies must review their missions and adjust their powers, responsibilities, structures, and staffing levels to ensure consistency.

Therefore, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment reviewed the mission and structure of the Department of Water Resources to ensure efficient and effective operations in the southern river basins, and to respond to the needs of the people comprehensively and promptly. This led to the establishment of the Regional Water Resources Office 10, Department of Water Resources, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, responsible for the upper eastern coastal river basins of southern Thailand, the Tapi River basin, and the upper western coastal river basins of southern Thailand.
